Hello everyone and welcome back to Blogmas: Extreme Failure Edition. Today I plan to do the Christmas Tag.
I’ve seen a lot of people doing this tag over the course of Blogmas, but even though it’s wholly unoriginal it looks fun and I’d like to do it. Feel free to do it if you want to because it’s super fun!
1. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
You’re going to be quite surprised when I say that I don’t watch very many movies. I just never have. I don’t really watch TV either, except the occasional Netlix show (Stranger things, lookin’ at you). But my favorite Christmas movie/program is A Charlie Brown Christmas. It deals very heavily with the heavy materialism that I hate so much about the holiday season, and ultimately it talks about the meaning of Christmas in it’s truest form. I will always have a place in my heart for this program.
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
Per tradition, we do not touch the presents under the tree until Christmas morning. Since we still prepare for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, we have to be in bed relatively early and that doesn’t leave a lot of time to open our presents.
3. Do you have a favorite Christmas memory?
No, not really. Sorry.
4. Favorite festive food?
My papa and grandmama always make finger foods for our Christmas together, and that always includes lots of sweets! I don’t think I could make it through the holiday without copious amounts of sugar and chocolate. But my absolute favorites would have to be ham delights, candied pecans, or my papa’s jalapeno balls. They’re all so delicious!
5. Favorite Christmas gift?
I don’t think I have one, honestly. I appreciate everything that is gifted to me, and I enjoy it all so much that I don’t think I can choose.
6. Favorite Christmas scent?
Apples and cinnamon, though to be fair I could smell that the whole year round. It’s honestly the best because it smells so spicy yet sweet. We’re not allowed to have the smell in our home though because my mother doesn’t like it, but whenever I get the chance to smell it it’s all I can do to not just sniff it.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Check out yesterday’s post to read about all of that!
8. What tops your tree?
A really old golden star tops my family’s tree. We have a light-up snowman but my mother is the only one who likes it so this year we just put up our star.
9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I don’t think I ever actually did this. Maybe a will to live?
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
As many of you know, I don’t particularly like Christmas (for reasons undisclosed), but I do enjoy seeing my sister enjoying Christmas. Her excitement and enthusiasm in her preparations for Santa Claus, and then on Christmas morning when she opens her presents, it’s what makes me feel the best about the holiday season.
I hope you enjoyed this tag! Be sure to check out yesterday’s post. If you’ve done this tag drop me a link so I can go and read it!! Tomorrow is Christmas Eve!
